- Approximately 35 years of involvement in complex commercial
litigation including construction, real estate, banking and general business litigation.
- Litigated construction claims involving industrial buildings, hotels, shopping centers, manufacturing plants, pharmaceutical plants, schools, water treatment plants and wastewater treatment plants, pipeline installation and tunnel construction.
- Has represented numerous municipalities in North Carolina with respect to bidding and negotiating public construction contracts as well as resolving claims arising out of public construction projects.
- Assists in negotiating construction contracts and advising clients on claims and litigation avoidance procedures.

- Extensive experience in litigating design claims, workmanship claims and construction delays, acceleration and scheduling issues.
- Has represented lenders and borrowers in connection with loan restructuring and workouts and the exercise of judicial remedies in loan default situations.
- Has represented litigants in a variety of business settings including breach of contract, business torts and shareholder / partnership disputes.
- Certified Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association specializing in business and construction disputes.
